our creative process

MANY MOONS AGO, AFTER COUNTLESS PROJECTS AND CLIENT JOBS, THE BIG BRAINS AT WENDIGO DECIDED TO TAKE A LONG INTROSPECTIVE LOOK INTO OURSELVES + OUR INDUSTRY. THAT meditative STARE YIELDED A PROVEN METHOD OF VISION MANIFESTATION AND EXPEDITED SERVICE FOR OUR CLIENTS. BASICALLY, A CONDENSED PROJECT WORKFLOW THAT IS EASY TO FOLLOW, KEEPS CONTRIBUTORS IN SYNC + ON TASK.

STEP ONE

CONnect + share

BY THE WAY, THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!

The initial consultation or brief is an exchange of vital information. I learn about you,  your brand, business, industry, and how I can customize a visual solution that aligns with your message and meets the end goals we set forth.

We discuss strategies, trends, markets, competitors, stylistic preferences, project specifications, deadlines, pricing, etc., and you will learn about this very design process. I will give you tentative estimates of monetary investment and production times based on the project scope.  This ultimately becomes the contract that establishes the details of our working relationship.  Once the contract is drafted and signed by both parties and at minimum 2/3 payment is received, work will commence.

Payment options include [PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Square, Zelle] however, invoicing will be documented and sent through my business PayPal.

STEP TWO

ASSESSMENT + QUOTE

*THIS STEP REPRESENTS AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT SCOPE, THE TIME IT WILL REQUIRE TO COMPLETE, AND THE ESTIMATED COST OF YOUR INVESTMENT.

Based on our initial consultation I will take what I've learned from you and your business and gauge the project scope as a whole. This step may occur during our first consultation/brief depending on the scale of the project you propose.

Beyond creating visual solutions that will help businesses succeed, my goal is to infuse as much value into working with me as possible. I enjoy being an informational resource to others who know little of this industry and its processes.  If there is anyway I can save a contact time, money, or a headache I will, even if that means going in a different direction without me.

Another advantage I have due to my many years of experience in the field, going to events and various travels is the network I've acquired consisting of: artists, craftsman, tradesmen, business professionals and vetted vendors.

STEP Three

RESEARCH + DESIGN

*MANY DESIGNERS DON'T INCLUDE RESEARCH IN THEIR PROCESS... THAT SHOULD WORRY YOU

This is where I take the notes from our consultation and confirm the accuracy of our project scope and goals. You would have received my Welcome To Wendigo Letter and the first phase of the Visual Design Process which is a simple proofing system of my own creation that keeps the project on track, you updated on its progress, builds trust and saves us both time and money.

I also look deeper into your target markets, check out the industry as a whole, past-present-future projections, local and national competitors' solutions to similar campaigns etc..  Anything of interest will be presented to you for review or input when necessary.

STEP FOUR

REVISIONS + APPROVALS

*AT THIS STAGE WE WILL BE IMPLEMENTING THE ACTUAL DESIGN PHASES THAT SEEK TO OPTIMIZE THE CREATION PROCESS KEEPING BOTH OF US ACCOUNTABLE.

You become the creative director, choosing options, editing, giving feedback, and approving or dismissing elements during its development.  We are collaborators and your input is crucial to the success of the project.

In short, this step is a series of presentations, reviews, and revisions-[4 to be exact.] After your initial mood-board selections I will begin the design concepts, arranging elements in different ways ultimately presenting you with up to 6 versions in the first phase. The next 3 phases, with your feedback, aim to refine the concept into the final product.

What does "revision" mean?

STEP
FIVE

FINALIZATION + DELIVERY

*THIS IS WHEN YOU PAY THE REMAINING BALANCE, GET ALL THE FILES AND MATERIALS OUTLINED IN THE CONTRACT AND WE BOTH FEEL AN AMAZING SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Basically, this should be a formality as you have been privy to the project's development from conception to completion and approved each stage.  However, if a major design change or a complete redesign is requested, or another service/product is added, the original contract will be altered to include the new project scope, deadline, and additional compensation required to deliver the alternate version.

All files will be delivered to you via email or uploaded to a shared file in the various formats/sizes documented in our contract once the final balance payment has been made.  Payments can be made through various applications [i.e. PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp, Square, Zelle] however, invoicing will be documented and sent through my business PayPal.
